Medical Officer

Job Responsibilities

1. Examine admitted patients, assess their clinical condition, and provide appropriate medical care.
2. Take detailed patient histories, perform physical examinations, and document clinical findings.
3. Prepare and update patient treatment plans in consultation with the concerned consultant.
4. Conduct regular ward rounds and monitor patients’ progress.
5. Identify emergency conditions and provide immediate initial management and stabilization.
6. Inform the concerned consultant promptly about any deterioration in a patient’s condition.
7. Prescribe medications, investigations, and supportive treatment as per hospital protocols and consultant instructions.
8. Maintain accurate and updated indoor patient records, progress notes, prescriptions, and treatment charts.
9. Monitor vital signs, investigation reports, fluid balance, and other relevant clinical parameters.
10. Coordinate with nurses, consultants, laboratory personnel, and other healthcare professionals to ensure quality patient care.
11. Ensure proper documentation of admission, referral, transfer, discharge, and death cases, where applicable.
12. Communicate patients’ clinical conditions and treatment progress to their attendants professionally, within the scope of responsibility.
13. Ensure compliance with infection prevention, patient safety, biomedical waste management, and hospital policies.
14. Verify that prescribed medications and investigations are appropriately documented and followed up.
15. Participate in shift handovers and ensure continuity of care between medical teams.
16. Attend to patients’ complaints and take timely action to address clinical concerns.
17. Maintain patient confidentiality, professional ethics, and respectful communication with patients and attendants.
18. Prepare discharge summaries and follow-up advice in coordination with the treating consultant.
19. Report adverse events, medical errors, and other patient safety concerns to the appropriate authority.
20. Perform other clinical and administrative duties assigned by the hospital management within professional competence and applicable regulations.

• Age 24 to 45 years

• Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery(MBBS)
• Fellowship of the College of Physicians and Surgeons (FCPS)

• 1 to 5 years
• The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s): Hospital, Diagnostic Centre, Clinic, Chamber
