About the CompanyRaja Corporation is a Chattogram-based Shipping Agent and Clearing & Forwarding (C&F) firm, established in 1980. With over four decades of experience in vessel agency services, port operations and customs clearance at Chattogram Port, we are strengthening our team to serve our expanding portfolio of shipping clients.Job ContextThis is a leadership role with full ownership of the company`s shipping agency function. The Manager – Shipping Operations will report directly to the Managing Partner and will be responsible for building the operational backbone of our vessel agency business.Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end vessel agency operations — vessel arrival/departure formalities, berth planning and coordination with Chattogram Port Authority
- Manage all shipping documentation — manifests, bills of lading, delivery orders — and ensure timely customs and port clearances
- Oversee C&F documentation workflow for smooth, on-time cargo clearance
- Handle husbanding services including crew change formalities, vessel supplies and ship`s husbandry matters
- Act as the company`s representative in dealings with shipping lines, overseas principals, ship owners, port authorities, customs, Mercantile Marine Department, Department of Shipping and other government bodies
- Negotiate agency tariffs, freight and service charges with clients and principals
- Manage agency disbursement accounts, port tariffs, and handle demurrage, detention and cargo claims efficiently
- Drive business development — bring in new shipping clients and agency opportunities; strengthen client retention through service excellence
- Lead, mentor and manage the shipping operations team with clear performance standards
- Monitor vessel schedules and operational budgets; ensure full regulatory compliance
Requirements
- Age 30 to 55 years
- Only Male
- At least 8-10 years of progressive experience in renowned shipping agency / port operations
- Minimum 5 years in a managerial role overseeing vessel or port operations
- Hands-on experience with Chattogram Port procedures is a must
- In-depth knowledge of port procedures, customs regulations, vessel documentation and maritime regulatory bodies (MMD, DoS, BIWTA)
- Working knowledge of Asycuda World and port community/documentation systems
- Strong professional network within the shipping/maritime industry
- Excellent written and spoken English; strong negotiation and stakeholder-management skills
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Demonstrated leadership, ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Age at most 45 years

Educational Requirement
- Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Supply Chain Management
- Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA)
- Professional certifications in Freight Forwarding, Customs Compliance, Supply Chain (FIATA) or Shipping Operations will be an added advantage
- Master's / MBA in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, International Business, Maritime Studies or related discipline
- Professional certifications in Freight Forwarding, Customs Compliance, Supply Chain (FIATA) or Shipping Operations will be an added advantage
Experience
- 8 to 10 years
- The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s): Clearing and Forwarding (C and F) Companies, Shipping, Logistic/Courier/Air Express Companies
