Other Requirement :
  • Minimum 10 years' experience in Internal Audit, preferably in Capital Markets, Banks, MNCs, or Financial Institutions. Previous experience leading an Internal Audit function is highly desirable.
  • Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) or equivalent forensic audit expertise will be considered as plus.
  • Practical experience in implementing whistleblower protection and ethics reporting frameworks.
  • Certification as a Fraud Examiner (CFE) or equivalent forensic auditing expertise will be considered an added advantage.
  • Demonstrated experience in establishing whistleblower protection mechanisms and ethics reporting systems.
  • Proficiency with digital audit tools, ERP systems, and data-driven control strategies.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Bangladesh's capital market regulations, corporate governance codes, financial reporting frameworks (IFRS, IAS), International Standards on Auditing (ISAs), company law, financial regulations, accounting principles, and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Skills, and Competencies:
  • In-depth understanding of Regulatory knowledge, Advanced audit techniques, risk-based auditing methodologies, and corporate governance best practices.
  • Strong analytical and investigative skills with the ability to evaluate business processes and recommend control enhancements.
  • Strong understanding of ERP systems, audit software (e.g., ACL, IDEA), cybersecurity frameworks, and IT risk assessments.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret complex data and recommend practical solutions.
  • Exceptional communication, report writing, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Proven expertise in applying digital tools for internal control monitoring, ERP systems, audit analytics, and risk reporting technologies.
  • Technology Competency highly tech-savvy, audit software (ACL, IDEA), ERP systems audit (SAP, Oracle), Cybersecurity framework audit and evaluation.

    Responsibilities : Strengthen Governance, Risk, Control and Digital TransformationDhaka Stock Exchange PLC (DSE), the premier stock exchange of Bangladesh, invites applications for the position of Head of Internal Audit. DSE is seeking a dynamic, forward-thinking, and highly skilled professional for the position of Head of Internal Audit to strengthen its governance and risk management framework, support the Exchange's transformation journey, and ensure alignment with global best practices.Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute the Internal Audit Plan.
  • Conduct internal audits and investigations, identify control weaknesses, and recommend improvements to management and the Board. Facilitate risk-based auditing.
  • Provide regular reports and independent assurance to the Audit and Risk Management Committee and the Board of Directors.
  • Review financials, operations, IT systems, and compliance processes, also review financial statements for compliance with IFRS, IAS, FRC, and BSEC guidelines.
  • Investigate irregularities, fraud, and operational inefficiencies and recommend corrective actions.
  • Ensure integration of technology, cybersecurity, and digital transformation aspects within the audit framework.
  • Facilitate organizational risk management practices and maintain a comprehensive risk register.
  • Integrate ESG-related disclosures and sustainability reporting into internal control reviews.
  • Establish and monitor a whistleblower and ethical compliance mechanism.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement across the Exchange.
  • Support DSE's digitalization initiatives by embedding technology-focused control practices.
  • Important Information:
  • Tenure: The appointment will be on a contractual basis for up to three years, renewable subject to performance.
  • Reporting: Directly to the Audit and Risk Management Committee (ARMC) of the Board of Directors.
  • Restrictions: During the period of employment, the HolA or their dependents shall not engage in the investment or trading of securities listed or to be listed on DSE.
