  • Experience planning events or in project management, including working with partners and/or media.

    Responsibilities : Salary: 2,073,121 BDTContract Type: Indeterminate (Full-time)Term Details: This position is a Locally Engaged Staff position, subject to the Terms and Conditions of Employment for LES in Bangladesh.Job Function: OfficerClassification: LE - O1Location: the High Commission of Canada to BangladeshSummary of Duties:Reporting to the Manager of the Foreign Policy and Diplomacy Program (FPDS), the Political and Public Affairs Officer will provide political and economic advice and analysis, organize advocacy activities, including cultural events, facilitate access to key interlocutors and decision makers, and support official visits, often in partnership with other High Commission programmes. Duties will include:
  • Undertakes advocacy and plans events: Design, planning and implementation of initiatives to advance/promote Canadian priorities, including in the areas of human rights, democracy, the rule of law, good governance, peace and security and gender equality.
  • Provides advice and analysis: Gather information in order to prepare high-quality analytical advice and reporting on emerging domestic and regional socio-economic, political, foreign policy and regional dynamics in accordance with Canadian interests and priorities.
  • Facilitates access to decision makers and build and maintain networks: Liaise with partners and stakeholders to increase and maintain the High Commission’s network to coordinate engagement, outreach and collaboration with political, cultural, academic, media, and civil society organizations and stakeholders to advance priorities for the Canadian High Commission. Help establish and maintain relevant networks to effectively propose, organize, and report on activities and events that further Canadian priorities.
  • Manages traditional and social media engagement: Support High-Commission-wide efforts to gain publicity about events, advocacy campaigns and messaging through strategic communication in traditional and social media.
  • Supports official visits: Plan, coordinate and manage official visits and events to advance program objectives for the High Commission.
