Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to lead a team and liaise effectively with cross-functional departments.

Uncompromising commitment to maintaining biosecurity measures.

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Layer Farm Manager to oversee our state-of-the-art poultry operations and drive exceptional performance.The Opportunity:This is a hands-on leadership role for a seasoned poultry professional. You will be responsible for the entire lifecycle management of our layer flocks, from pullet arrival through the entire laying cycle. Your expertise will be critical in maintaining flock health, optimizing production output, and ensuring the highest standards of biosecurity and efficiency. You will lead a dedicated on-farm team and be a key player in our continued success.Key Responsibilities:
Flock Health & Management: Direct all daily farm operations including feeding, watering, vaccination programs, and environmental control during brooding, growing, and laying periods.
Biosecurity & Disease Prevention: Implement and enforce strict biosecurity protocols to prevent disease outbreaks. Maintain a vigilant watch on flock health and take immediate, corrective action when necessary.
Performance Optimization: Utilize your analytical skills to monitor and interpret flock performance data (hen-day production, feed conversion ratio, mortality) to ensure consistently high output.
Record Keeping & Reporting: Ensure accurate and timely data entry into our ERP system. Prepare detailed reports on flock status, performance metrics, and operational activities for management.
Maintenance Coordination: Work closely with the Engineering team to schedule preventive maintenance, address breakdowns efficiently, and ensure all farm equipment and facilities are in optimal working order.
Team Leadership & Training: Manage, train, and motivate farm workers. Foster a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
Farm Preparation: Lead the team through the end-of-cycle process: litter removal, thorough cleaning and disinfection of sheds and equipment, and preparation for new flock intake, verifying efficacy through lab tests.
