Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Geography, Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Environmental Science, Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Forestry Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Geography, Environmental Science, Forestry, Urban Planning, Geospatial Sciences, or a related field from a Public Universities
Other Requirement
:
Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in GIS-related roles, preferably in environmental or climate adaptation projects
Expertise in geospatial software (ArcGIS, QGIS, Google Earth Engine, etc.) and remote sensing platforms
Experience with field data collection tools (e.g., KoboToolbox, Survey123, GPS devices)
Familiarity with carbon mapping, forest stratification, and LULC (Land Use Land Cover) assessments
Proficiency in spatial data analysis, modeling, and database management
Desirable Skills:
Knowledge of international frameworks like the Ramsar Convention, REDD+, and the Paris Agreement
Understanding of carbon offset methodologies, MRV systems, and compliance documentation
Strong analytical, communication, and mentoring skills
Commitment to gender equality, sustainability, and community-centered development

Position OverviewWe’re seeking a seasoned Senior GIS Analyst to lead geospatial components of our afforestation, coastal restoration, and climate adaptation programs. The ideal candidate will blend technical expertise with strategic vision to support fieldwork, planning, monitoring, and reporting across diverse landscapes and communities.Responsibilities:
Design, implement, and manage GIS-based data systems for project planning and monitoring.
Lead geospatial mapping, satellite imagery analysis, and spatial modeling.
Conduct strata classification, soil data analysis, and overlay mapping to support project feasibility and reporting
Develop and maintain spatial databases with consistent data validation procedures
Collaborate with field teams to collect, interpret, and integrate GPS/remote sensing data
Support Monitoring, Reporting, and Verification (MRV) frameworks.
Generate cartographic outputs, dashboards, and spatial layers for policy and stakeholder engagement
Prepare geospatial sections of project design documents, reports, and grant proposals
Train junior staff and community partners in GIS tools, mobile-based data collection, and mapping techniques
