PRERONA is a women-led feminist non-governmental organization based in the Satkhira district of Bangladesh, founded in 2006 by a group of like-minded social workers. Since its inception, PRERONA has been dedicated to empowering vulnerable women in the coastal regions. These women often face persecution, exploitation, and are subjected to gender-based violence due to societal impact, social stigma, and natural calamities, all of which exacerbate gender disparity.

PRERONA aims to enhance the quality of life for children, women, and the broader community by elevating the socio-economic conditions of marginalized and vulnerable populations. The organization envisions a society where women and men equally participate in and benefit from decision-making processes. Prerona’s mission is to uplift and advocate for the rights of marginalized women who are frequently deprived of access, excluded from decision-making processes, and subjected to various forms of social neglect. PRERONA promotes diversity and inclusion and creates an open and inclusive culture where everyone feels valued.

PRERONA`s projects serve a diverse population in the Satkhira, Khulna, Bagerhat, and Naogaon Districts with include women, men, transgender, persons with disabilities (PwD), adolescents, youth and ethnic communities.

PRERONA is registered with multiple authorities: Department of Social Services (05/2006), Department of Women`s Affairs (Satkhira/96/15), NGO Affairs Bureau (3311), TIN Registration with the National Board of Revenue (140537152425) under the Deputy Commissioner Office, Companies Circle-2, Tax Region Khulna, and holds a trade license in Kusulia, Kaliganj (225/2024-25).

  • Demonstrated experience in leadership & report writing.      
  • Familiarity with climate resilience, sustainable livelihoods, and rural community engagement is highly desirable.       
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups and youth girls.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.       
  • High level of cultural sensitivity and understanding of community dynamics in coastal regions.
  • Proficiency in Bangla and English, both spoken and written
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software.

This collaboration aims to empowering girls in this coastal region focusing the impact of climate changed. PRERONA will start the implementation of the three-year-long project titled “Durbar: Empowering Girls for Climate Resilience, Rights, and Green Futures in Munshiganj” in 15 June 2025. The project will benefit a total of 3500 households including youth especially girls, parents, teachers and civil society. In the coastal target areas, the project will focus mainly on youth girls , which is disproportionately affected by climate change. The project is financially supported by Plan International.PURPOSE: PRERONA is inviting applications for the position of Project Coordinator, who will undertake the project’s overall implementation, supervision and reporting, under the supervision of the Head of Program of PRERONA. Project will be implemented in the Munshigonj union under Shaymnagar Upazilla, Satkhira.   KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Develop project implementation strategies and prepare a detailed implementation plan (DIP) in line with the project proposal.      
  • Ensure timely and effective execution of project activities, aligned with overall goals and objectives.
  • Facilitate smooth collaboration within the project team, focusing on girls’ leadership, entrepreneurship, green business innovation labs, SRHR, and climate-change education.       
  • Introduce innovative approaches to networking, stakeholder engagement, and advocacy.
  • Gain easy access to communities and educational institutions to form various committees, foster networks, and develop leadership skills among young school and college girls. 
  • Identify potential youth—especially girls—who fit project criteria for climate-resilient and sustainable livelihood initiatives, with an emphasis on green business promotion.      
  • Engage school and college governing bodies and teachers to raise awareness about climate-resilient education.      
  • Design and implement business development plans and strategies that support climate-resilient and sustainable livelihoods for women and girls in coastal communities.      
  • Support youth entrepreneurship development through green business income-generating activity (IGA) assistance.      
  • Foster partnerships with stakeholders at local, regional, and national levels—including NGOs, government bodies, and private-sector entities—to promote youth-led business ventures.      
  • Conduct market assessments to identify potential green business opportunities and challenges in coastal areas.       
  • Organize networking events and business expos to showcase women’s products and services.       
  • Implement community feedback mechanisms to align the project with local priorities and needs.       
  • Engage in advocacy meetings with government offices, local government, NGOs, and community members.       
  • Provide mentorship and leadership development to build a girls’ brigade, and facilitate capacity-building efforts.       
  • Organize and participate in meetings, learning sessions, trainings, workshops, and seminars as needed.       
  • Integrate gender equality and social inclusion (GESI) considerations into all project activities.       
  • Study project documents continuously and ensure results-focused event management.      
  • Prepare project plans and reports in accordance with requirements.
