Breaking the Silence is a non-profit, voluntary organization registered with the Department of Social Services (Registration No. 05037, Date: 17 September 2000) and NGOAB (Registration No. 1642, Date: 20 May 2001). The organization works to establish child rights, prevent child abuse and child sexual abuse, prevent child marriage, accelerate child-friendly good governance, improve the quality of education at the primary and pre-primary level, prevent violence against women, empowering children and women. It also contributes to achieving the relevant Sustainable Development Goals. The organization has been implementing various programs to prevent child abuse and child marriage, empowering children and women, creating opportunities for children to participate in the decision-making process of local government and strengthening the social accountability process. Moreover, in response to any natural and social disaster, the development partner in collaboration with the government as a partner in the program. BTS ensures the involvement of children and women from the disabled and disadvantaged communities in all programs. The organization has been facilitated national-level advocacy initiatives to scale up the good practices and models all over the country and contribute to review or formulate new laws and policies regarding child and women rights.

Educational Requirement : Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Social Science, Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Development Studies, Master of Arts (MA) in Social Science, Master of Arts (MA) in Development Studies
Other Requirement :
  • At least 2–3 years of relevant experience in child protection, GBV prevention, or adolescent/youth development.
  • Experience working with community structures and vulnerable populations, preferably in Rohingya response settings.
  • Experience in working with or through partner organizations is a plus.
  • Good understanding of child marriage and GBV prevention frameworks.
  • Strong facilitation and communication skills, especially with adolescents and youth.
  • Ability to work effectively with community groups and volunteers.
  • Competency in basic reporting and documentation.
  • Fluency in Bangla and basic knowledge of the Rohingya language is preferred.
  • Proficient in MS Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

    Strengthening Protection, Well-Being and Resilience of Adolescent Against Gender- Based Violence and Child Marriage in Rohingya Camp and Host Communities of Cox’s Bazar” at Ukhiya in Cox’s Bazar districts. The project will be implemented by the support of SCI. BTS is going to recruit Ga ‘Officer Preventive to the Child Marriage & GBV ’ for the mentioned project the position’s desk office will be at Ukhiya in Cox’s Bazar District.Project Name : BGD

    Strenthening Protection, Well-Being and Resilince of Adolescent Against Gender- Based Violenceand Child Marriage in Rohingya Camp and Host Communities of Cox’s Bazar”Responsibilities:The Officer – Preventive to Child Marriage and GBV will be responsible for supporting the effective implementation of adolescent-focused protection, life skills, and GBV prevention activities in both Rohingya and host communities. The role includes close coordination with implementing partners, community-based structures, and youth clubs to deliver quality awareness, skill-building, and behavior change interventions to reduce child marriage and GBV.Key Responsibilities:Program Implementation & Technical Support
  • Facilitate and monitor the following partner-led interventions:
  • Life Skills and Protective Behavior training for adolescent girls and boys.
  • "Girl Decide" module sessions (5 batches x 15 sessions) including support for ToT and adolescent sessions.
  • Structured PSS sessions for children at risk using the Resilience Package.
  • Sessions engaging boys and men in GBV prevention efforts.
  • Participation of adolescent girls in skill development at GFS (sewing, handicrafts, literacy).
  • Ensure timely and appropriate distribution of Dignity Kits and Menstrual Hygiene Management (MHM) kits to adolescent girls.
  • Community Engagement and Mobilization
  • Support the strengthening of Community-Based Mechanisms (CBM), Parents’ Groups, and Adolescent/Youth Clubs (boys and girls).
  • Facilitate adolescent and youth-led initiatives such as campaigns, rallies, and street shows against child marriage and GBV.
  • Organize and assist in community sensitization events on child marriage and GBV prevention.
  • Awareness and Behavioral Change Communication
  • Coordinate rollout of girls’ group-led popular theatre activities such as Interactive Popular Theatre (IPT), puppet/muppet shows, and educational video shows.
  • Engage and supervise community volunteers from Rohingya and host communities in preventive awareness activities.
  • Field Operations and Logistics
  • Support the planning and logistics of field movement and transportation for outreach activities.
  • Ensure availability of outreach materials including printing and other supplies as needed.
  • Monitoring, Reporting, and Coordination
  • Track activity progress and prepare regular reports on preventive interventions.
  • Document case studies, success stories, and community feedback.
  • Participate in coordination meetings and represent the project at the field level when required.
  • Others
  • Be able and willing to respond to natural disasters or emergencies, when needed, and any other task assigned by the Supervisor and /or Senior Management of BTS.
  • Tenure of Services Contract:3 (Three) months probation period. After successful completion of the probation period, based on the performance of the staff and recommendation from the supervisor, the post may be continued till the project’s lifetime.
