Higher university degree in relevant disciplines for the position.

Knowledge and experience of programmes related to development cooperation and humanitarian assistance.
Minimum 3 years’ experience in project cycle management, including results management; financial management; audit; and monitoring and evaluation.
Knowledge and experience of the operating framework for government, civil society and multilateral organisations in development and/or humanitarian programming in Bangladesh.
Strong problem-solving skills and capacity to work analytically, independently and efficiently.
Fluency in English both written and verbal.
Readiness to take on new tasks and areas of responsibility, if and when required.

We are currently looking for a programme officer responsible for managing projects within development cooperation and humanitarian assistance.
Duties and responsibilities
Serve as the embassy’s focal point on development cooperation and humanitarian assistance.
Day-to-day management of programmes. This will include appraisal and monitoring of contractual arrangements in accordance with results-based management, as well as the monitoring of programme implementation and budgets, expenditure and audit reports. Follow up agreements with partners and stakeholders, including government entities, multilateral organizations and civil society organisations.
Producing and contributing to reporting, briefings and talking points within the area of work.
Represent the Embassy in external meetings.
Closely follow international, Bangladeshi and Norwegian developments in his/her area of work and inform Embassy staff of new developments.
Contribute to communication materials, social media content, and events.
Other duties as assigned.
Terms and conditions
Full-time, open-ended contract with 6 months’ probation period. Occasional domestic travel may be required as part of the role.
