Project Name: ‘‘Health System Strengthening at Government Health Facilities at Cox’s Bazar’’Reportable to: Superintendent – District Hospital, UH&FPO - Upazila Health Complex Ukhiya and Teknaf, Cox’s Bazar Monitoring & Technical Assistants: PHD in collaboration with IOM will deploy a group of staff led by Team Leader for round-the-clock monitoring and technical support. This may include spot check, review of performance reports and assessing technical competency.Accountable to: As an appointing authority, you will be accountable to PHD for legal and disciplinary procedures for which PHD will review your performances periodically. Team Leader of this project and senior officials will represent PHD.Job Objective:The Medical Technologist (Radiographer/CT-scan Radiographer) will be recruited as a part of human resource support under the joint collaboration between PHD and IOM to enhance access, quality and utilization of essential health, nutrition and GBV services in District Hospital, Cox’s Bazar. The Medical Technologist will be responsible to perform diagnostic imaging services-including X‑ray, ultrasound, CT scan as applicable, maintain and calibrate radiological equipment, ensure quality and radiation safety, accurately record and manage imaging data, and support clinical teams with timely diagnostic services. Responsibilities:The Medical Technologist will undertake the following tasks in the respective department assigned by the hospital authority, not limited to:
Perform diagnostic imaging (X-ray, Ultrasound, CT-Scan where available) precisely in accordance with physician orders, ensuring proper patient positioning and contrast administration when required to get the clearest and most accurate image possible.
Hospital (DH/UHCs) operates 24 hours a day, thus Radiographer may need to work irregular hours, including nights and weekends or duties in shift.
Monitor patient safety, continuously observe during scans, manage IV contrast protocols, and minimize radiation exposure and following infection prevention and control (IPC) measures.
Implement radiation protection protocols, adhering to regulations and acting as radiation safety advocate for both patients and staff in compliance with national standards.
Ensure digital and manual records are accurate, complete, and confidential, in compliance with health information protocols and support the implementation of PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System).
Perform routine quality control checks (QC), perform preventive maintenance, on imaging equipment, and calibrate to ensure optimal functionality and safety.
Maintain adherence to the updated SOPs, national guidelines, and international standards relevant to diagnostic imaging.
Manage inventory of supplies—contrast media, consumables—and requisition items as needed
Collaborate with the healthcare team, including radiologists, physicians, nurses, and hospital administrators, to ensure efficient workflow.
Provide on-call imaging services for emergencies, adapting swiftly to urgent imaging needs
Maintain functional relation with and accountability to respective authority
