Experience in emergency imaging, trauma diagnostics, or maternal-fetal medicine is advantageous.
Previous work in Government health system will add value to the position.
Working experience in Cox’s Bazar district and/or knowledge of the Undocumented Myanmar Nationals and Rohingya refugees will be a plus.
Knowledge and experience with working in field Hospitals, public health sector, medical emergencies will be advantageous.
Ability to work effectively under pressure in hardship situations and harmoniously within a team of colleagues from varied cultures and professional backgrounds.
Ability to work independently under minimal supervision
Working experience in public health facilities under World Bank supported Health and Gender Support Program will be preferred

Project Name: ‘Health System Strengthening at Government Health Facilities at Cox’s Bazar’’Reportable to: Superintendent of District Hospital, Cox’s BazarMonitoring & Technical Assistants: PHD in collaboration with IOM will deploy a group of staff led by Team Leader for round-the-clock monitoring and technical support. This may include spot check, review of performance reports and assessing technical competency.Accountable to: As an appointing authority, you will be accountable to PHD for legal and disciplinary procedures for which PHD will review your performances periodically. Team Leader of this project and senior officials will represent PHD.Job Objective:The Radiologist (Sonology) will be recruited as a part of human resource support under the joint collaboration between PHD and IOM to enhance access, quality and utilization of essential health, nutrition and GBV services in District Hospital, Cox’s Bazar. The Radiologist will be responsible for performing and interpreting various diagnostic imaging procedures and perform diagnostic imaging (ultrasound) conduct image-guided procedures, communicate findings to the clinical team, and maintaining diagnostic quality, assisting with image-guided procedures, and contributing to high standards of patient care.Responsibilities:The Radiologist (Sonology) will undertake the following tasks in the respective department assigned by the hospital authority, not limited to:
Performing all types of ultrasound/ sonographic examinations including obstetric, gynecological, abdominal, and general imaging as per the advices of the physicians to help diagnose illnesses.
Ensuring quality of test with special focus on that the transducer (probe) is capturing images correctly
The Sonologist will also ensure the patient positioned is accurate to get the clearest and most accurate image possible
Apply ultrasound gel appropriately spread on the surface of the patient’s body to cover the internal area being imaged and effective signal transmission.
Taking informed consent before procedures and explaining the sonography procedure to patients in order to avoid confusion and unnecessary complaints
Provide compassionate care, respecting the privacy, dignity, and confidentiality of patients throughout the diagnostic process.
Maintaining ultrasound equipment with proper care and servicing and sterilizing the room in which the procedure takes place
Evaluating the images for their quality, and interpreting reports what the image captured
Preparing reports of ultrasounds done and presenting images and preliminary findings to the physicians and the health care team
Maintaining patient records and adding medical notes related to the ultrasound procedure
District Hospital operates 24 hours a day, thus the Sonologist may need to work irregular hours, including nights and weekends or duties in shift.
Ensuring uninterrupted supplies of logistics (gel, printing papers) necessary for continued sonography services.
