  • Ability to build rapport with the team and in a community setting

    Responsibilities : Job Specifications:BADAS-Centre for Health Research and Implementation, formerly BADAS-Perinatal Care Project (PCP) is a joint collaboration between the Diabetic Association of Bangladesh (BADAS) and Institute for Global Health (IGH) University College London and Department of Health Sciences, University of York, UK,which has been working since 2002 on diverse health issues including non-communicable diseases. BADAS-CHRI is looking for a qualified candidate for the position of ‘Supervisor’ for its “Developing and evaluating an adapted behavioural activation intervention for people with depression and diabetes in South Asia (DiaDeM)” extended project. The DiaDeM is a multi-country, multicenter randomized-controlled trial, conducted from September 2020 to June 2025, introduced a new psychological counselling/talking therapy called ‘Behavioural Activation (BA)’ for individuals living with both diabetes and depression in Bangladesh and Pakistan. This current programme will involve scaling up BA in existing healthcare services at BIRDEM General Hospital, Dhaka.Duration: 08 months.Job Location: BIRDEM General Hospital, DhakaResponsibilities:
  • Receive training on ‘Behavioural Activation’ from experts at University of York, UK
  • Supervision, as per the specified guidelines, of facilitators delivering a talking therapy called ‘Behavioural Activation’ to patients referred from the outpatient department at BIRDEM General Hospital, Dhaka.
  • Provided all necessary support to the Trial Coordinator and the research team
  • Contribution in the development of materials relevant to the therapy
  • Maintaining regular correspondence with facilitators and members of the project team in Dhaka office
  • Regular submission of activity reports to Dhaka office
