Having obtained FCPS/MD (Pediatrics) or any Equivalent degree recognized by BMDC will be preferred orHaving Diploma in Child Health (DCH) degree with or Completed MD (Pediatrics) 2nd part and now in 3rd part (Thesis) . Up to date registration license from Bangladesh Medical & Dental Council.

Project Name: ‘‘Health System Strengthening at Government Health Facilities at Cox’s Bazar’’Reportable to: Superintendent – District Hospital, Cox’s Bazar Monitoring & Technical Assistants: PHD in collaboration with IOM will deploy a group of staff led by Team Leader for round-the-clock monitoring and technical support. This may include spot check, review of performance reports and assessing technical competency.Accountable to: As an appointing authority, you will be accountable to PHD for legal and disciplinary procedures for which PHD will review your performances periodically. Team Leader of this project and senior officials will represent PHD.Job Objective:The SCANU (Neonatologist/Paediatrician) will be recruited as a part of human resource support under the joint collaboration between PHD and IOM. This position enhance access to, quality and utilization of essential health, nutrition and GBV services in District Hospital, Cox’s Bazar. The SCANU (Neonatologist/Paediatrician) specialist will be responsible to provide expert medical care for sick and premature new-borns in the Special Care New-born Unit (SCANU) through early diagnosis, life-support interventions, neonatal life-support, parent counselling, team coordination, and ensuring adherence to national neonatal care standards. Responsibilities:The SCANU (Neonatologist/Paediatrician) will undertake the following tasks in the respective department assigned by the hospital authority, not limited to:
Work as a specialist doctor in managing all Pediatric and Neonatal cases including clinical interventions independently, wherever and whenever needed both general and emergency set up especially those are being referred from the UH&FWC/USC, Community Clinics and Community or from private doctor/clinics.
Deliver specialized care for sick and premature new-borns admitted to the SCANU, including initiating and monitoring life-support measures and advanced neonatal interventions. Perform the ward rounds.
Conduct regular ward rounds and assess the condition of all admitted paediatric and neonatal patients both in routine/scheduled and emergency set up.
Provide emergency care and clinical interventions in both routine and acute cases, including resuscitation, ventilation support, and fluid/electrolyte management etc.
Supervise, support and mentor Medical Officers, Nurses and other mid-level healthcare professionals in neonatal and paediatric care practices.
Provide proper services to the neonates and children patients admitted in the inpatient wards performing on call duty-roster as and when needed to cover 24/7 services.
Assist to prepare periodic reports and other requests for information as required.
Provide support to manage and monitoring of essential drug and supply stocks in coordination with the hospital pharmacy, medicine/store or logistics unit to avoid out of stock situations.
Active engagement with referral and management of transportation for the patients to higher facilities as required. He/she will take the help of WhatsApp/Viber group involving all concerned for ensuring timely, effective and documented communication with all.
Coordinate the maintenance of updated medical records, neonatal case registers, and disease profiles, ensuring data entry into DHIS2 while maintaining confidentiality.
Assist in the preparation of routine service delivery reports, mortality/morbidity data, and any additional reports requested by the line manager and supervisor.
Maintain functional relation with and accountability to the in-charge of the respective authority
Ensure compliance with all hospital policies, clinical protocols, and ethical standards.
