Educational Requirement : Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery(MBBS)
Other Requirement :
  • At least one year of experience in – INGO (preferring experiences in working at ICU department)
  • Good in oral & written communication skills in both Bengali & English
  • Basic knowledge in computer operations (MS word, MS Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Good in typing in Bengali & English
  • Knowledge and experience with working in Tertiary Hospitals, medical emergencies will be advantageous.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure in hardship situations and harmoniously within a team of colleagues from varied cultures and professional backgrounds.
  • Ability to work independently under minimal supervision.
  • Excellent knowledge of clinical protocols, quality standards, and emergency response.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills. 
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. 
  • Working experience in public health facilities under World Bank supported Health and Gender Support Program will be preferred.

    Responsibilities : Project Name: ‘‘Health System Strengthening at Government Health Facilities at Cox’s Bazar’’Reportable to: Superintendent – District Hospital, Cox’s Bazar Monitoring & Technical Assistants: PHD in collaboration with IOM will deploy a group of staff led by Team Leader for round-the-clock monitoring and technical support. This may include spot check, review of performance reports and assessing technical competency.Accountable to: As an appointing authority, you will be accountable to PHD for legal and disciplinary procedures for which PHD will review your performances periodically. Team Leader of this project and senior officials will represent PHD.Job Objective:The ICU consultant/Anesthesiologist will be recruited as a part of human resource support under the joint collaboration between PHD and IOM to enhance access, quality and utilization of essential health, nutrition and GBV services in District Hospital, Cox’s Bazar. The ICU consultant/Anesthesiologist will be responsible to lead critical care and anesthesia services in the ICU by delivering expert patient assessment, life-support interventions, and perioperative management, while mentoring staff, ensuring protocol compliance, and optimizing patient outcomes. Responsibilities:The ICU consultant/Anesthesiologist will undertake the following tasks in the respective department assigned by the hospital authority, not limited to:
  • Medical consultation of admitted patient in the ICU which includes examine patients and make diagnoses to determine the specific needs of treatment/management and/or any intervention
  • Review patient’s medical history and plan the best procedure for treatment in collaboration with other clinical personnel
  • Participate in the medical board for any complicated cases inclusive of other department e.g., Medicine, Surgery, Obstetric & Gynae or any other units.
  • Take lead in administrative management in Cox’s Bazar Sadar Hospital at ICU & Optimizing the allocation of available resources
  • Supervision of other staffs working at ICU department e.g.- Store employees, Nurses, and other support staffs
  • Ensuring the updates of all treatment protocol are being following by the ICU team members, and sharing of knowledge, clinical ideas and latest treatment procedures
  • Regularly sharing of information on activities, achievements, challenges and the way forward in the ICU Ward
  • Provide on-the-job training to other health staff and junior doctors
  • Take overall responsibility in ICU ward and responsive to any call regards to critical patient management 24/7.
  • Submit monthly report and presentation in monthly meeting
  • Perform such other duties that may be assigned by the Supervisor.
  • Maintain functional relation with and accountability to the in-charge of the respective District Hospital, Cox’s Bazar.
  • Any other assignment given by PHD management.
