Educational Requirement

Project Name: ‘‘Health System Strengthening at Government Health Facilities at Cox’s Bazar’’Reportable to: UH&FPO – UHCs, Ukhiya and Teknaf, Cox’s Bazar Monitoring & Technical Assistants: PHD in collaboration with IOM will deploy a group of staff led by Team Leader for round-the-clock monitoring and technical support. This may include spot check, review of performance reports and assessing technical competency.Accountable to: As an appointing authority, you will be accountable to PHD for legal and disciplinary procedures for which PHD will review your performances periodically. Team Leader of this project and senior officials will represent PHD.Job Objective:The Specialist - Paediatrics will be recruited as a part of human resource support under the joint collaboration between PHD and IOM to enhance access, quality and utilization of essential health, nutrition and GBV services in UHCs Ukhiya and Taknaf, Cox’s Bazar. The Specialist - Paediatrics will be responsible to provide expert pediatric care—encompassing outpatient, inpatient, and emergency services—while supervising child health interventions, training staff, ensuring adherence to national protocols, and coordinating referrals to strengthen UHC’s service delivery. Responsibilities:The Specialist - Paediatrics will undertake the following tasks in the respective department assigned by the hospital authority, not limited to:
Work as a specialist doctor in managing all Pediatrics cases including clinical interventions independently, wherever and whenever needed both general and emergency set up especially those are being referred from the UH&FWC/USC, CC and Community or from private doctors/clinics.
Provide services and consultation to Pediatrics cases and related neonates and children patients as per requirements.
Conduct regular ward rounds and supervise pediatric inpatient care. .
Perform required clinical interventions as per established protocols during scheduled and on-call hours, both in routine and emergency set up.
Support and mentor on job training sessions to strengthen clinical skills in pediatric and neonatal care among Medical Officers, Nurses and other mid-level healthcare professionals
Provide proper services to the neonates and children patients admitted in the inpatient wards performing on call duty-roster as and when needed to cover 24/7 services.
Assist to prepare periodic reports and other requests for information as required.
Provide support to manage supply and stock in medicine/store to avoid out of stock situations.
Active engagement with referral and management of transportation for the patients to higher facilities as required. He/she will take the help of WhatsApp/Viber group involving all concerned for ensuring timely, effective and documented communication with all.
Coordinate with data entry operators to collect medical information and other details into DHIS2 with maintaining confidentiality.
Participate in regular performance reviews, submit required reports, and contribute to program evaluations.
Perform such other relevant duties assign by the line manager and supervisor.
Maintain functional relation with and accountability to the respective authority
