• Bachelor’s degree in Textile Engineering, Apparel Merchandising, Fashion/Textile Technology, or a related field;

Experience• Minimum 10–12 years of progressive experience in denim merchandising/sourcing, including at least 3–4 years in a leadership or category-management capacity.
• Proven track record managing large-volume denim programs for international fashion brands or retailers, from concept through bulk shipment.
• Demonstrated experience building, leading, and developing high-performing merchandising teams.
Technical Knowledge• Deep expertise in denim fabric construction (ring-spun, open-end, stretch, rigid), washing and finishing technologies, and garment construction techniques.
• Strong command of costing, FOB negotiation, and margin management at a category/portfolio level.
• Sound understanding of sustainable denim practices — water and chemical reduction technologies, certified cotton, recycled fibres, and relevant certifications (OEKO-TEX, GOTS, Bluesign, Higg Index).
• Familiarity with international compliance, labour, and trade-compliance standards governing denim exports.

This is a senior, high-visibility role for a proven denim leader who combines deep technical expertise with strong commercial judgment and people leadership, working closely with senior management across our global offices.Key Responsibilities• Own end-to-end strategic and operational leadership of the Denim category, setting category direction, growth targets, and sourcing strategy in line with company goals.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of merchandisers and technical staff dedicated to the Denim vertical, building bench strength and succession depth.
• Serve as the senior point of contact for key international denim buyers and brands, building long-term, trust-based relationships at the decision-maker level.
• Direct the full product development cycle for denim collections — washes, finishes, fits, and fabrications — translating brand vision into commercially viable, on-trend product.
• Oversee vendor selection, capacity planning, and factory performance across NDS9’s global network, ensuring the right-fit partner for each program.
• Lead high-stakes costing and price negotiations with mills, laundries, and factories, protecting margin while meeting aggressive buyer price points.
• Establish and monitor category-wide KPIs — on-time delivery, quality pass rates, cost savings, and order growth — reporting performance to senior leadership.
• Champion sustainable and responsible denim manufacturing practices (water-saving washes, certified fibres, circularity initiatives) in line with NDS9’s sustainability commitments.
• Own risk management across the category: anticipate capacity, compliance, raw-material, and logistics risks, and drive contingency planning.
• Partner with QA, compliance, and logistics teams to uphold the highest standards of quality, ethical sourcing, and on-time shipment.
• Drive continuous improvement in lead times, order flexibility, and cost competitiveness to strengthen NDS9’s position as a preferred denim sourcing partner.
• Represent NDS9 at trade shows, buyer meetings, and factory audits internationally as required.
• Any other responsibilities as assigned by Management.
