Ph.D. in Civil Engineering, with a minimum of two First Class/Division/A Grades, one of which must be in either the undergraduate or graduate program.At least 07 years of teaching experience at the university level, including a minimum of 03 years as an Assistant Professor.A minimum of 05 publications, with at least 3 of them published during the tenure as an Assistant Professor.

Subject Areas: Civil Engineering
Position Description: BAIUST invites applications from dynamic, qualified, and committed individuals for the position of Associate Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering (CE). The successful candidate is expected to demonstrate excellence in teaching, research, academic leadership, and service to both the university and the broader academic community.
Key Responsibilities:
To teach undergraduate courses in accordance with the approved syllabus, with a strong emphasis on both core and advanced areas of Civil Engineering, such as Structural Analysis and Design, Geotechnical Engineering, Transportation Engineering, Water Resources Engineering, Environmental Engineering, and Construction Management.
To design and deliver engaging, effective, and research-informed instruction, incorporating modern pedagogical methods that support varied learning styles and academic levels.
To mentor students in academic development, final year design projects, undergraduate research initiatives, and career planning or professional certification pathways.
To conduct high-quality, impactful research and publish in reputed peer-reviewed journals and conferences, both nationally and internationally, in areas relevant to Civil Engineering.
To provide academic leadership within the department and actively contribute to faculty development, curriculum advancement, and strategic academic planning.
To participate in and contribute to the activities of the Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), including self-assessment, program review, and continuous academic improvement.
To lead and support efforts toward national and international accreditation (e.g., BAETE, IABEE) and contribute to institutional rankings through quality teaching and research.
To contribute to the design, implementation, and continuous enhancement of Outcome-Based Education (OBE) curricula, ensuring alignment with national priorities and international best practices.
To ensure that course content remains up to date, aligned with current industry practices and research advancements in the Civil Engineering domain.
To engage in curriculum development, academic audits, and university-wide policy formulation processes in alignment with institutional goals and standards.
To initiate and sustain collaborative partnerships with construction and infrastructure industry stakeholders to facilitate internships, fieldwork, industry-led projects, guest lectures, and job placement opportunities for students.
To actively participate in interdisciplinary collaborations, sustainable development initiatives, and knowledge-sharing events that enhance the practical relevance of academic work.
To serve on academic and administrative committees of the university and represent the department in key academic and institutional decision-making forums.
To represent the university in national and international conferences, seminars, academic exchanges, and collaborative research programs, thereby enhancing the institution’s academic standing.
To stay abreast of emerging trends in infrastructure development, climate-resilient engineering, smart city technologies, and sustainable construction, and integrate their relevance into teaching, research, and outreach activities.
To undertake any other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the university authority in pursuit of academic excellence.
