Other Requirement :
  • At least 3–5 years of finance experience in the NGO/non-profit sector
  • Familiarity with donor rules
  • Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Tally)
  • Strong knowledge of Bangladeshi tax, audit, and financial compliance
  • Integrity, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills
  • Fluency in Bangla and working knowledge of English
  • Experience : 3 to 5 years
    Responsibilities : The Bangladesh Centre for Worker Solidarity (BCWS) is a prominent labor rights advocacy organization based in Dhaka, Bangladesh. The aim of the organization is to empower and support garment workers who are seeking decent working conditions and to advocate domestically and internationally for greater respect for labor rights and fighting for workers’ rights and job with dignity. BCWS especially emphasizes the rights of women workers, gender equality, participation of women workers in bargaining and protecting the human rights of women and children. BCWS was founded in 2000. Job Summary:The account Officer will oversee all financial operations of the organization, ensuring transparency, accountability, and compliance with donor and legal requirements and government requirements. This role includes managing financial systems, preparing budgeting and reports, financial reporting, handling audit and tax compliance, and coordinating with the NGO Affairs Bureau (NGOAB) for project audit approvals and renewals.Responsibilities:Financial Planning & Management
  • Develop, monitor, and revise organizational and project budgets
  • Ensure accurate financial record-keeping and reporting
  • Manage fund disbursement and expenditure tracking
  • Prepare and submit timely financial reports to donors and senior management
  • NGO Affairs Bureau (NGOAB) Compliance
  • Prepare and submit audit applications, project reports, and audit reports
  • Ensure compliance with all NGOAB rules and regulations
  • Maintain updated NGOAB documentation and facilitate project approval and renewal

  • Liaise with NGOAB officials as needed
  • Audit & Tax Compliance
  • Coordinate external and internal audits
  • Ensure compliance with income tax, VAT, and other financial laws
  • Prepare financial documents for audit and inspection purposes
  • Cash and Bank Management
  • Oversee bank transactions, reconciliations, and cash flow
  • Ensure proper management of petty cash and secure financial records
  • Maintain bank relationships and monitor fund balances
  • Donor Reporting & Communication
  • Ensure compliance with donor-specific financial reporting formats and timelines
  • Support proposal development with budget inputs
  • Track donor disbursements and cost-sharing commitments
  • Capacity Building & Team Supervision
  • Supervise finance and admin staff
  • Conduct financial orientation for project teams and partners
  • Strengthen internal control systems and promote accountability
