  • Ability to multi task and remain organized, meet deadlines
  • Understanding of wider business areas – Strategy, HR, Finance, Innovation etc.
  • Experience Requirements
  • At least 10 - 15 years’ experience in reputed manufacturing or buying office operations in Knit & Woven category.
  • Knowledge in Garment Fitting
  • Knowledge in Pattern Making, Pattern Grading and Pattern Adjustment
  • Capability of making size specs from a sample or from a design Sketch according to the required fit/shape/country.
  • Knowledge in fabric criteria an basic understanding of fabric consumption.
  • Both Local and Expatriate applications are invited for the post

  • Job Context
  • The Manager – Technical Design holds the accountability to serve as a critical bridge between the design and technical teams. This is an individual contributor role ideal for someone with a strong design foundation complemented by robust technical knowledge and multi-category garment experience. The incumbent requires extensive hands-on involvement in evaluating design feasibility, translating design sketches into technically sound products, and ensuring alignment with customer requirements across the entire product development lifecycle.
  • Job Responsibilities
  • Analyze the design sketch and tech pack, understand and clarify design intent.
  • Clarify technical specifications, construction and workmanship, placement details, embellishment details, washing requirements, product feasibility, and revert back to the customer for further clarifications with correct rationale.
  • Work closely with pattern makers to ensure that all samples produced are technically viable for design and quality parameters as specified.
  • Follow up on the critical path throughout the entire product development life cycle while providing necessary guidance.
  • Advise and communicate effectively with the development team based on style details, special requirements, comments, and production difficulties to ensure that the garment is constructed as per specifications and meets performance criteria such as production feasibility and fit.
  • Ensure customer requirements, spec measurements, product quality, styling details, labeling, washing standards, safety matters, and testing.
  • Ensure the right fit and draping on the mannequin and clarify with the senior team and customer before dispatch.
  • When required, make fit logs, upload to PLM, and provide to the customer in a timely manner.
  • Confirm the accuracy of specifications as per the fit and minimum standards, together with the pattern tech.
  • Review the product with the designer and clarify the amendments.
  • Attend risk analysis meetings to explain the historical details encountered during the development stage.
