By so doing Mukto Akash Bangladesh provides care and support services for PLHIV that include counseling, provision of treatment of opportunistic infections, ARV, nutritional supplements, awareness raising on HIV and AIDS and advocacy so the rights of PLHIV can be recognized and upheld through challenging stigma and discrimination.

  • Two-years’ experience for clinical services and having working in Non-Government Organization may consider additional.
  • Skills: Clinical services and independently decision making.
  • Good verbal and written communications skills in English and Bangla.
  • Proficient in computer skills of word processing in MS Word, MS Excel spread sheet, Power Point Presentation.
  • Ability to interact professionally with a diverse population.
  • Ability to exercise flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities.
  • Team working, interpersonal and relationship building skills.

    GC7Job location: ChuadangaMain Job Description: ‘Oral Substitution Therapy (OST)’ with Methadone and ‘Treatment, Care and Support (TCS)’ including ART are the important components of current PWID intervention. Therefore, Senior Medical Officer - OST and TCS will be primarily responsible for Harm Reduction program of both HIV positive and HIV negative PWID regarding NSP, OST, ART, OI management and co-infection management at Chuadanga OST Center as part of the management, SMO will be responsible for assessment, diagnosis and treatment of both HIV positive and HIV negative PWID regarding OST, ART, TB, OI, abscess and other general health conditions. S/he will supervise the clinical services and also provide necessary technical assistance to other designated Service Center for ensuring quality services to PWID. As part of capacity building initiatives, s/he will facilitate clinical meetings at a regular interval at Service Center and also facilitate other training sessions. S/he will also conduct on- the-job sessions for the Service Center team members. S/he will also prepare and submit periodic progress reports on OST, ART and other clinical services.However, the specific roles and responsibilities of Senior Medical Officer described in the followings:
  • Day to day management of service center including staff attendance, leave, effort reporting, etc.
  • Prepare monthly requisition for operation cost and track day to day expenditure
  • Ensure effective, efficient and rationale use of program logistics, syringe-needle, condom, medicine, methadone, ARV, etc.
  • Initiate and participate in service center-based staff recruitment as per organizational policy
  • Track work plan activities focusing on both the quality and quantity against the national and global fund indicators
  • Supervision of the innovative activities in accordance with the program needs
  • Ensure maintenance of CIS
  • Clinical assessment of both HIV positive and negative PWID and their partners for OST, ART, TB, OIs, STI, abscess, etc.
  • Provide treatment to PWID related to drug dependency, HIV infection, Opportunistic infection, TB, STI, abscess and for other health conditions
  • Provide technical support to other service center for management of HIV positive and negative PWID
  • Identify gaps to provide technical assistance to CDIC/OST center/Outlet for improvements and necessary modifications
  • Identify training needs for relevant project staff and organize OST related training for the project staff
  • Assist to organize all capacity building initiative for service center team
  • Prepare abstract for submission of different forum to highlight the learning and achievements.
  • Maintain liaison with law enforcement agency, GoB, NGOs, CBOs and other stakeholder/ local influential for smooth service center and outreach operation.
  • Maintain functional coordination with other comprehensive service center, OST and ART centers and Outlets.
  • Participate in various coordination meetings in different forums as and when required as participant, trainer, facilitator, presenter, etc.
  • Monitor regular activities of outreach, counseling, OST/ART dispensing and laboratory services
  • Conduct field visits and generate action plan based on the field findings
  • Prepare and submit periodic progress reports
  • Prepare and review other reports to meet different deadlines and project requirements
