    Responsibilities : The DASCOH Foundation is looking for a motivated Community Development Organizer to join its team for the "Thriving through Equity Economic Empowerment and Climate Resilience (THRIVE) Project." This project is supported technically by HEEKS/EPER Bangladesh and funded by SDC. It aims to bring positive change to marginalized communities by helping them adapt to climate change and become more disaster resilient. The main responsibility of this role is to support and carry out the ongoing activities of the THRIVE project. The Community Development Organizer (CDO) will focus on working closely with Dalit and Adivashi communities to encourage their participation, support their development, and improve their livelihoods. The role includes collecting data, leading youth development activities, and helping project participants join sustainable livelihood programs. Building strong relationships with different stakeholders is also an important part of the job to ensure the success of the project. The additional responsibilities are to help people access government social safety net programs, promoting fairness and resilience in these communities.Job Responsibilities:
  • Lead field surveys to identify households eligible for project participation.
  • Develop and implement activity plans at the community level.
  • Support the Unit Officer (UO) by furnishing comprehensive information and reports on communities and VDCs.
  • Organize sensitization sessions, meetings, and discussions for target project participants according to the project plan.
  • Foster strong relationships with households and stakeholders, especially local government representatives and duty bearers.
  • Maintain meaningful engagement with communities, project participants, and relevant stakeholders.
  • Assist in identifying youth and young adults for skills programs, ensuring follow-up for enrolment and retention in chosen trades and skills training.
  • Regularly follow up with target households to ensure they receive necessary support for both on-farm and off-farm activities.
  • Ensure eligible households have access to various Social Safety Net Programs (SSNPs).
  • Conduct financial transactions transparently within the project budget.
  • Represent HEKS-PNGO in community engagements with NGO’s CSOs, and other stakeholders.
  • Build connections with relevant youth committees, groups, and associations to aid Project Coordinators (PC), Livelihood Technical Officers (TO), Skill Development TOs, and Unit Officers in achieving project goals.
