Profound knowledge about ASTM, ACI, Bangladesh Imarat Nirman Bidhimala-2008, BNBC, and associated codes and standards.

Nature of Job: Contractual Staff (For 02 years)Job Purpose:
The Manager-Infrastructure Development will be responsible for leading and overseeing the execution of assigned construction and maintenance projects of UCEP Bangladesh through his team. This role ensures adherence to design specifications, standard construction practices, and quality standards while managing project planning, scheduling, and execution. Additionally, the position involves conducting construction project management, reporting, and implementing risk mitigation strategies of UCEP Bangladesh to ensure the successful, safe, timely, and cost-effective completion of projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Planning and Execution: Lead project teams in preparing proposals, cost estimates, and execution plans, ensuring proper staffing and resource allocation.
Coordination: Collaborate with design teams, internal units, and regulatory authorities to secure necessary approvals and manage project-related issues effectively.
Contract and Cost Management: Oversee contract development, execution, and compliance while monitoring project expenses to ensure financial discipline and cost control.
Progress Monitoring and Technical Support: Track project status, adjust schedules as needed, and provide technical guidance to resolve construction challenges.
Quality and Safety Assurance: Ensure adherence to quality standards and safety regulations, promoting a secure and high-standard work environment.
Measurement and Payment Verification: Verify work measurements, certify bills, address discrepancies, and coordinate with accounts for timely payments.
Material Supply and Risk Management: Ensure timely material supply by coordinating with procurement, tracking requisitions, and verifying deliveries. Simultaneously, assess and mitigate project risks to prevent disruptions and delays.
Project Closure and Documentation: Facilitate project handover, ensuring functionality and client satisfaction while maintaining comprehensive project records.
Team Development and Mentorship: Mentor other Engineers and Staffs, enhance their technical and managerial skills, and foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
To ensure effective coordination with other departments (e.g. ICT and Business Solutions, Finance and Accounts, Programmes etc.) at central level and regional offices including other entities of UCEP Bangladesh.
To oversee that UCEP Bangladesh’s construction related files and other documents are properly maintained including its other entities at central and regional level.
Promote and contribute to ongoing efforts towards gender equity & equality, child/staff protection & safeguard, inclusiveness, accessibility and discrimination free environment in the workplace and operations/activities/plans. In applicable cases, ensure that necessary budget allocation is there and in KPIs these issues are reflected regarding employees under supervision.
