JAGO NARI has started its activities in 1998 with its own resource with a view to help the poor people in many respects of Barguna a under developed costal District in the southern part of Bangladesh in terms of socio economic perspective as well as livelihood. It is a non-political, nonprofit, rights based and non-government Organization (NGO) committed to participate in and promote national development through upgrading the socio economic condition and promoting and protecting the rights of the disadvantaged, deprived backward and poor communities of the society. Some likeminded, qualified and experienced women of the society established JAGO NARI in the middle of 1998.

Educational Requirement : Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Human Resource Management
Other Requirement :
  • Minimum of ten years of experience (including 5 years at an operational leadership level) in human resources in progressively more responsible roles. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Experience with an international NGO preferred.
  • Knowledge of the country’s pertinent labor laws, government regulations, and legal codes and precedents.
  • Knowledge of principles of human resources including recruitment, compensation and benefits, and employee relations.
  • Fluency in Bangla is required. Good working knowledge in written and spoken English is required.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
  • Excellent interpersonal and listening skills. Ability to interact with all levels of staff in a professional manner.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team or independently.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative management style.
  • Strong administrative and organizational skills; record keeping & filing systems.
  • Proven ability to identify and develop processes and procedures where necessary.
  • Previous substantial experience in at least three of the following field: Project Management, Supply Chain, Administration, Security, IT, Risk Management, Communication, Fleet Management, Government Liaison.
  • Excellent understanding of GoB’s compliance requirements for NGO operations in Bangladesh, budget management, and change management.
  • Strong diplomacy skills; ability to be flexible to changing needs, manage stress, and maintain good collaboration with donors and other peers in a critical environment.

This is core position of the JAGO NARI’s Sofol program (Micro Credit) program based at Head Office.Job SummaryGuides and manages the overall provision of Human Resources services within the JAGO NARI project in Bangladesh, ensuring compliance with local labor law and JAGO NARI policies and procedures. Develops processes and metrics that support the achievement of the project's business goals. Assists and advises managers and employees on a wide variety of Human Resources matters. Control and handle procurement for all projects, ensuring compliance with local/international rules.Major Responsibilities
  • Coordinates staff planning, recruitment, selection, and orientation. Prepares job descriptions, advertisements, and employment and consultant contracts and scopes of work. Designs and promotes gender sensitive recruitment, deployment, and retention strategies.
  • Administers the compensation, performance management and benefit programs. Supports key personnel such as Directors and Managers in conducting performance appraisals. Manages and maintains health insurance benefits/policy and records pertaining to staff insurance and direct staff on process for preparing and submitting insurance claims if applicable. Manages settlement and clearance of all staff upon separation under direction of the Chief Executive.
  • Manages the communication of and compliance with local labor laws, cultural norms, donor requirements, and JAGO NARI policies. Provides training to staff as required. Alerts the Chief Executive as new regulations come into effect in the country that will impact the integrity of the HR Policy.
  • Provides support and recommendations to the Chief Executive on personnel-related issues. Addresses complaints and disputes in a confidential manner under the direction of the Chief Executive. Acquires legal advice as necessary to ensure full compliance with local labor laws.
  • Provide strategic leadership, direction, and oversight to ensure the efficient and effective operation of the supply chain function. This includes setting performance targets, identifying and mitigating risks, ensuring seamless cross-departmental coordination, and implementing robust monitoring mechanisms.
  • Oversee the management of operations at field offices, ensuring they effectively meet program needs through strong leadership and oversight of the operations departments.
  • Conducts regular field trips to project offices to monitor and review personnel and administrative procedures and assist project staff, where appropriate and under the request of the Chief Executive.
  • Performs other projects or duties that may be assigned from time to time by the Chief Executive.
