The role:
To support the WASH Sector, the Senior Programme Officer will lead the Hygiene Promotion Technical Working Group (HP TWiG) and conduct a scoping study for innovative, sustainable solutions. They will ensure inclusive community engagement in WASH through technical advice on hygiene promotion, including solid waste management, waterborne disease prevention, outbreak response, menstrual hygiene management, and child feces management. Additionally, they will develop a model design for in-house bathing spaces that are safe, durable, and culturally appropriate, ensuring privacy for women and children, with proper drainage and water management in collaboration with the Shelter and Site Management Sector. The aim is to improve hygiene promotion in WASH by engaging actors through HP TWiG at Cox’s Bazar level, conducting a scoping study for community-accepted hygiene promotion programming, and developing model designs based on best practices and ongoing operations.
