Educational Requirement : Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Mechanical Engineering, Diploma in Engineering B.E. in Mechanical/ Diploma/B.Tech or relevant Engineering discipline from reputed University. Certification in industrial maintenance or utility management preferred.
Other Requirement :
  • Minimum 5-8 years of experience in industrial maintenance, with at least 4 years in a supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of garments machinery maintenance, electrical systems and industrial safety.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and team management abilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle emergency situations effectively.
  • Strong understanding of garment machinery and operation processes.

  • Responsibilities : Industry: Readymade Garments (Denim and Oven)Location: Factory Based position Reports To: Factory Manager/ Head of IE-Planning and DevelopmentDepartment: Maintenance.Job Summary:The Maintenance In-Charge will oversee the maintenance operations of the plant, ensuring all garments machinery, equipment, and facilities operate efficiently and safely. The role involves planning, supervising, and coordinating preventive and corrective maintenance activities to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.Responsibilities:
  • Plan, supervise, and execute preventive and corrective maintenance activities for garment automation systems, with a focus on Swing Machines-Juki, Brother, VB MAC, and IMB equipment.
  • Independently lead and manage the maintenance department, ensuring smooth operations and timely resolution of all machinery issues.
  • Diagnose technical problems quickly, develop and implement effective maintenance schedules. Lead and supervise the maintenance team to ensure zero breakdown and maximum efficiency and safety standards.
  • Maintain detailed records of machine service, repair history, and preventive maintenance schedules. Maintain machine logs, maintenance schedules, and spare parts inventory.
  • Maintain liaison with production, quality, and other departments to understand operational challenges and provide timely support.
  • Monitor spare parts inventory and ensure cost-effective use of resources.
  • Stay updated on the latest sewing machine technologies and recommend upgrades or improvements when necessary.
  • Communicate clearly with colleagues, supervisors, and production staff to maintain a collaborative work environment.
  • Provide technical solutions and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Develop and implement preventive and corrective maintenance schedules for machinery, equipment, and facilities.
  • Supervise, guide, and train maintenance staff to ensure high standards of workmanship and safety compliance.
  • Monitor machinery performance and diagnose issues to minimize downtime.
  • Coordinate with production and engineering teams to plan maintenance activities without disrupting operations.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, spare parts inventory, and equipment history.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, regulations, and company policies.
  • Manage procurement of spare parts, tools, and maintenance equipment as earliest.
  • Evaluate and recommend new machinery, tools, and technology upgrades for operational efficiency.
  • Conduct regular audits of machinery, equipment, and infrastructure to detect potential issues proactively.
  • Provide immediate support to the production team for urgent maintenance requirements to ensure uninterrupted operation of machinery and prevent any production downtime.”
