This includes contracts, banking relationships, pricing, and strategic business development. The role will oversee financial performance, revenue optimization, and customer portfolio management, ensuring that all commercial activities maximize profitability while mitigating risk. The Commercial Manager will play a pivotal role in driving sustainable financial growth, expanding business, and strengthening strategic alliances.Responsibilities:Business Development:
Build and nurture relationships with key clients, government agencies, and strategic partners.
Support proposal development for new buyers and bids to enhance competitive positioning.
Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments to forecast opportunities and risks for future growth.
Identify and develop new business opportunities across international markets.
Collaborate with internal teams to tailor solutions that meet client requirements.
Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of business development activities.
Represent the company at industry events, professional networks, and client meetings.
Drive customer-centric strategies to enhance client satisfaction and retention.
General Commercial activities:
Develop and implement commercial strategies aligned with company objectives and market dynamics.
Identify new revenue streams and growth opportunities across key markets to expand business footprint and profitability.
Lead negotiations with clients, suppliers, and financial institutions to secure favorable terms and mitigate risk.
Oversee all banking and commercial operations, including:
Letters of Credit (LC), back-to-back LCs, funded loans, and other trade finance instruments.
Coordination with government offices and regulatory bodies, such as BGMEA, bonded warehouses, NBR, RSC, Chottogram port, and other authorities for import/export compliance.
Management of bonded licenses, export-import documentation, and customs clearance processes.
Communicate and negotiate with Clearing and Forwarding (C&F) Agents regarding shipments.
Oversee customer relationship management and ensure high-value client engagement.
Ensure all commercial, banking, and trade operations comply with regulatory requirements, corporate policies, and industry best practices.
Provide strategic insights and recommendations to senior management to support decision-making and business planning.
Contract & Negotiation Leadership:
Lead negotiations with suppliers, clients, buyers, and partners to secure optimal commercial terms.
Draft, review, and manage contracts ensuring compliance with legal, regulatory, and company standards.
Mitigate commercial risks through effective governance, due diligence, and proactive risk management.
Collaborate with internal teams (merchandiser, finance, operations) to ensure contracts align with business objectives.
Monitor contract performance, enforce compliance, and resolve disputes efficiently.
Develop standardized contract templates and frameworks to improve efficiency and consistency.
Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules to maximize profitability and operational effectiveness.
Evaluate commercial and financial implications of contracts to support strategic decision-making.
Maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders to facilitate smooth execution of agreements.
Track market and regulatory changes to ensure contracts remain compliant and competitive.
Operational:
Lead the commercial team to deliver maximum efficiency and performance with a focus on commercial excellence.
Support the merchandising team in cost control, achieving new orders, and monitoring supplier performance.
Mentor and develop junior commercial staff to build a high-performance and results-driven culture.
Develop and implement pricing strategies to optimize profitability across products and markets.
Manage all supplier and vendor relationships to ensure quality, timely delivery, and competitive pricing.
Conduct regular commercial reviews and performance analysis to support strategic decision-making.
Ensure compliance with regulatory and corporate standards in all commercial transactions.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (finance, operations, logistics) to optimize overall commercial performance.
Strategic & Financial Management:

Manage budgets, forecasts, and commercial performance targets to ensure financial discipline and operational efficiency.
