Educational Requirement
:
Bachelor of Social Science (BSS) Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Gender Studies, Psychology, economics, development studies or legal studies, and human rights or other closely related field (Master’s preferred).

Experience and Skills Requirements

Experience in preparing international periodic reports will be highly appreciated.

Project Name: Ending sexual and gender-based violence in public spaces, in the context of work and tertiary educational settings in BangladeshProject Duration: 35 monthsJob Description / Responsibility
The Project Associate will support the planning, coordination, and implementation of activities aimed at preventing and responding to Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV). This role requires close collaboration with university students, faculty, and stakeholders to promote awareness, build capacity, and create a safe and inclusive campus environment. The Project Associate is specifically expected to support ASK’s implementation of Output 2.1, which focuses on ensuring the University Grants Commission (UGC) and tertiary educational institutions strengthen their capacities to adapt, implement, and monitor a whole-of-school approach to prevent SGBV.
Key responsibilities include:Program Implementation and Coordination:
Plan, coordinate, and facilitate the project activities.
Provide capacity-building and knowledge management support to university students, community groups, and other relevant stakeholders.
Build and maintain relationships with individuals, social groups, institutions, and organizations pertinent to the project.
Support students and youth platforms in the selected universities (Khulna University, Kurigram Agricultural University, Jamalpur Science & Technology University, Begum Rokeya University, and Patuakhali Science and Technology University) to develop and implement Social and Behaviour Change Campaigns (SBCC).
Support student-led initiatives and clubs focused on gender equality and GBV prevention, including innovation hubs like Idea Labs, and activities such as the National Moot Court Competition.
Assist in strengthening teachers’ capacities to address gender stereotypes and prevent SGBV in the university setting, including organizing cross-learning workshops.
Support the delivery of capacity development activities such as Needs Assessments, Capacity Trainings, and Learning Dialogues among stakeholders.
Coordinate efforts to ensure inclusive services are provided, specifically addressing the needs of women with disabilities, gender diversified people, and ethnic minority women.
Advocacy and Reporting:
Conduct local-level advocacy initiatives through coordination with key stakeholders, supporting efforts to promote enforcement of High Court Directives and Zero Tolerance policies.
Help develop informational materials, toolkits, and communications materials for students and staff related to the project (e.g., MOOC content, materials for Tech-based Violence Prevention).
Prepare the program reports with the assistance of the Project Coordinator.
Arrange different types of meetings and seminars with various stakeholders, including law enforcement and civil society, as part of the Multi-Stakeholder Advocacy & Partnerships strategy.
Maintain communication with Human Rights Activists and specialized individuals.
Monitoring and Field Work:
Conduct periodic performance monitoring, including reassessments, to ensure quality is maintained and milestones are met.
Mandatory travelling outside Dhaka, visiting the five working universities in Khulna, Kurigram, Jamalpur, Bogura, and Patuakhali for project purposes if required.
Assess and participate in necessary collaborative efforts.
Perform any other tasks assigned by the supervisor.
