Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Environmental Science Bachelor's degree / Masters in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field or BSc in civil Engineering.

Job Context: An Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Officer's involves ensuring compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations by creating and implementing policies, conducting inspections, investigating incidents, and training staff and officer to protect employees, the public, and the environment. As an EHS Officer will be to ensure the organization's compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations and standards. He will work closely with employees, management, and regulatory bodies to develop, implement, and monitor effective EHS policies and procedures.Responsibilities:
EHS Compliance: Stay up-to-date with local, government, and national regulations related to environmental, health, and safety. Ensure the organization's compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards.
Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify and address potential EHS risks and non-compliance issues in different work site. Develop, implement, and maintain EHS policies, procedures, and guidelines.
Communicate and educate staff, officer, Engineer and workers on EHS policies, procedures, and regulations.
Identify potential workplace hazards and develop strategies to mitigate and control risks. Cooperate with relevant departments to implement effective controls and preventive measures.
Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses to determine root causes and develop corrective actions
Incident Management: Maintain incident reporting systems and documentation. Track and analyze incident data to identify trends and implement preventive measures
Develop and deliver EHS training programs for employees and contractors and sub-contractor staff. Conduct EHS induction programs for new employees and contractors. Provide ongoing EHS training and education to enhance awareness and knowledge.
Develop and implement emergency response plans and procedures. Conduct drills and exercises to test emergency response abilities. Organize with relevant stakeholders to ensure readiness for potential emergencies. Prepare and submit reports to management and regulatory bodies as required.
Continuously assess and improve EHS management systems and processes. Implement best practices and industry standards to enhance EHS performance. Stay informed about new developments and advancements in EHS practices.
